God’s Presence

I had a beautiful insight early one morning that I’d like to share about the presence of God. We have heard that we cannot live in the past or in the future … and it is true. The past is behind us – the past has passed. There is nothing we can do to change a single moment of it. The future is still to come and it is impossible to experience it. It is only the current moment that we can live, experience, produce, enjoy, etc. It is this one moment in time that is real for us. In a way, that one moment in time is a gift. It is a present that God has given us and that is why we call it the present. The present is a present from God. As we go through our day, we are given a series of moments to live, experience, produce, enjoy. Each one is a gift, a present from God. At the end of the day, we can look back on the moments that we have experienced and with the right frame of mind, we can see that all were presents that God had given us. With an even more appropriate frame of mind, we can recognize that in those moments, those presents, we have experienced the presence of God.
