My first Hammered Dulcimer was made by Lee Spears (Thistlegate Music) in North Carolina. His Hammerdance model was simply supurb and reasonably priced. I purchased it from a lovely music shop in Black Mountain, NC named Song of the Wood, which is owned and managed by Jerry Read Smith, another excellent hammered dulcimer builder. (See both of these below.) I have played on and enjoyed many different instruments over the years and can recommend a few others.
